Activity Description

Hamari Yaadein (Our Memories) is a collaboration between Overgate Hospice and Halifax Opportunities Trust, providing dementia support to diverse communities across Calderdale. This group offers a holistic approach to individual needs, focusing on person-centred care and support for people with dementia.

Hamari Yaadein (Our Memories) provides a friendly, safe environment where people with dementia can attend with their carers or family, where a dedicated team of staff and volunteers are available to advise, inform, and support. Our aim is to improve self-esteem, encourage self-expression, reduce social isolation, and help lessen anxiety.

We are committed to supporting people from all cultural backgrounds and ensuring everyone feels welcome and understood. To help us achieve this, we have a team member available who can assist with translation and help bridge language barriers.

If you have any questions about our Hamari Yaadein (Our Memories) service, or for referral information, please call 01422 347392 to speak to Jonaid Iqbal/Gulbaz Khan from the Staying Well Team or contact a member of Overgate Hospice’s Day Hospice Team on 01422 379151.
