Our community

greenspace

You can learn, grow and volunteer at the Outback Community Kitchen and Garden; Park ward's very own green space.

The Outback is a unique community kitchen and garden based in the heart of the Park Ward community.

The Outback Community Kitchen and Garden runs on organic and sustainable principles and the thriving garden is packed full of herbs, fruit and veg. The one acre site is located next door to the Jubilee Family Hub and is open to the public. There are lots of interesting areas to explore and learn more about the natural environment, whilst the straw bale kitchen provides a perfect space for the local community to gather and cook food.

It makes an excellent setting for meetings, events, regular groups or even a picnic in the garden. The kitchen is fully equipped and can comfortably seat up to 24 people.

Support

We have a number of opportunities for you to support our greenspace and help our crops and community grow.

The Outback Community Kitchen and Garden receives limited funding from third parties, which supports our onsite gardener and manager. All our activities and projects are only possible thanks to the incredible generosity of our volunteers, who help to run our kitchen and garden.

Any support makes a huge difference to us and helps us continue to grow fresh organic produce, run FREE events and build our community. From one off, small-scale donations to yearly packages, we have something to meet most budgets – we appreciate your generosity and ongoing support.

Find out about our opportunities packages and how to contribute by emailing sarah.waddington@regen.org.uk.
