Inspire project gets off to a great start

Our recent partnership with Calderdale Council and other local specialist providers is already helping people to find quality jobs.  Inspire is a new project to help people across the borough get back into work, training or start to look at their job searching options.

Our Inspire Employment Advisors support local people to help them with the journey towards work and are also making some excellent links with local employers to create opportunities for their participants, which has resulted in people already starting in new careers.

One of our first participants on the project is Samina*, who came to us seeking help with finding a job.  Samina explained to our Advisor Jo that she is skilled as an Industrial Sewing Machinist and would like to look at her options in utilising this experience within a job.  Jo quickly got in touch with one of her employer connections who run a small family owned business making bespoke clothing items and arranged for them to meet with Samina.  After some support with building her confidence and preparing for the interview, Samina was successful in securing an opportunity.  Things are going well and both Samina and her employer are really happy with the match.

Jo Denny, Lead Employment Advisor at the Trust says: ‘matching people & their skills with the opportunities that our employer contacts offer us is essential.  By working on a bespoke & personalized basis, we can ensure that the process is smooth for job seeker & employer who both benefit from the sustainability of the match.  Building strong professional relationships with local employers helps us to support people into the right jobs quickly, while ensuring employers recruit successfully’
