2010 – Apprenticeship Opportunities

We began delivering apprenticeships in 2010, in support of people looking for a career in education or childcare. This was built on our experience with offering learning opportunities for parents seeking roles in the industry and supported staffing in our growing network of children’s centres and nurseries.

This work began in 2007 and continued to grow. Halifax Opportunities Trust became approved with the awarding body CACHE through its work, which meant that we could offer nationally recognised training and qualifications in early years.

In fact, in 2010, over 150 people benefited from training through Halifax Opportunities Trust.

Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre

Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre continued as a hub for service delivery, as well as offer light industrial units for local businesses, as it does to this day. In 2010, the Trust was able to offer seven new businesses subsidised rates, as part of a start-up scheme.
