Big HOT Review of 2023 (and 21 years)

The Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT) review of the year (and AGM) is back and will take place on Thursday 16th November 2023, from 2pm – 4pm, at Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre.  

As a public event, the Trust welcomes everyone to the HOT review of the year 2023, where attendees can learn about key HOT highlights of the past 21 years. The event will conclude the charity’s 21st anniversary celebrations, with a number of special activities and a formal AGM, taking place after impactful presentations.  

The Itinerary

2pm – Arrival and reception drinks Attendees welcome to explore the atrium, where market stalls will be hosted by enterprising participants, volunteers and staff. Please bring along cash!

A live scribe will also be documenting the event to mark our 21st celebrations…

2.50pm – Welcome and introduction – Alison Haskins (HOT CEO) and Hilary Barber (HOT Chair)

3pm – Our Impact and case stories

3.15pm – Networking throughout the atrium

4pm – HOT AGM – HOT Board and Trustees

HOT puts people at the centre of everything it does and is a community focussed charity. The Trust works with people to understand their aspirations and helps them along the way, with around 1700 people in contact with its services each day.  HOT creates opportunities for; finding meaningful work, leading fuller lives, raising families, growing a business, integrating into the community and gaining new skills.

Over the past 12 months HOT has created opportunities for:

  • over 200 people to receive employment support
  • improved wellbeing for almost 300 people through our Key worker model
  • over 5,000 families to receive advice and guidance
  • around 800 local people to work at businesses based within Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre
  • 240 refugees and migrants to integrate within the local community
  • over 50 apprentices to gain skills for work and life
