‘The stories you may not know’  Muslim women & Education

The Inclusive Integration team at Halifax Opportunities Trust is hosting an event at Halifax Minster’s Summer Festival on 27th June. ‘The Stories you may not know’ event will see participants from the Inclusive Integration program share their lived experiences of being a Muslim female in our community.

The aim of the event is to educate the local people about the history of Muslim women paving the way for women’s education globally, their contributions & participation in becoming founding members of educational establishments, and addressing how Islam influences women’s education and roles of Muslim women in education & entrepreneurship. 

Incorporating the diverse communities of Calderdale, Halifax Opportunities Trust is a prominent learning provider. The event gives the Trust an opportunity to share and widen the knowledge of the varied interfaith communities that reside in Calderdale, while sharing interesting facts of the prominence of Muslim women in education.

Halifax Minster’s Summer Festival celebrates music, art, theatre, dance and culture in a packed season of events held at Halifax’s landmark Minster. Taking place from Thursday 22nd June to Sunday 2nd July 2023, the event will welcome local people and visitors from further afield to enjoy a varied mix of entertainment.

‘The stories you may not know’  Muslim women & Education takes place on TUESDAY 27 JUNE from 14:00 and is FREE.
