The Outback Community Kitchen and Garden came alive on Wednesday 22 July as families, community groups and local organisations gathered for the first Community Power Festival – an afternoon dedicated to celebrating the strength, resilience and spirit of our community.
Held in the heart of Park Ward, the festival brought together people of all ages for an afternoon filled with music, activities, food and opportunities to connect. Visitors explored a wide range of community stalls, discovered local services, enjoyed family-friendly entertainment and took part in activities designed to promote wellbeing, inclusion and positive change.
At its heart, the Community Power Festival was about showing what can be achieved when people come together. The event encouraged residents to meet local organisations, learn about the support available in their community and share ideas about how they can help shape the future of their neighbourhood.
The Outback Community Kitchen and Garden provided the perfect setting, with its welcoming green space showcasing the importance of community-led places that bring people together. Throughout the afternoon there was a real sense of togetherness, with new friendships formed, conversations started and plenty of smiles shared.
The festival also highlighted the incredible work taking place across Park Ward, demonstrating the power of collaboration between local organisations, volunteers and residents. From health and wellbeing initiatives to environmental projects and community activities, the event celebrated the people who are making a difference every day.
