Halifax charity announces annual review of the year

The Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT) review of the year (and AGM) is back and will take place on Thursday 10th November 2022, from 2pm – 4pm, at Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre.  

As a public event, the Trust welcomes everyone to the HOT review of the year 2022, where attendees can learn about the key HOT highlights of 2022. The event will also host the charity’s formal AGM, which will take place after many of the presentations and awards.  

The itinerary:

2pm – Arrival and reception drinks – Attendees welcome to explore the atrium and meeting spaces to learn all about the Trust and how we create opportunities for local people

2.50pm – Welcome and introduction – Alison Haskins, HOT CEO

3pm – Award Giving (High Sheriff Award) – Susan Baker, High Sheriff of West Yorkshire

3.15pm – Networking throughout the atrium

4pm – HOT AGM – HOT Board and Trustees

HOT puts people at the centre of everything it does and is a community focussed charity. The Trust works with people to understand their aspirations and helps them along the way, with around 1700 people in contact with its services each day.  HOT creates opportunities for; finding meaningful work, leading fuller lives, raising families, growing a business, integrating into the community and gaining new skills.

Over the past 12 months HOT has worked with the community to deliver:

  • 1500 free meals through the Tuesday Takeaway at the Outback Community Kitchen and Garden
  • Funding for 800 local people to participate in community projects, through its micro-commissioning work
  • Special Educational Needs CPD Training to 62 learners
  • Support for 120 migrants with Inclusive Integration programmes
  • Sustainable employment opportunities for 75 local people
  • High quality workspaces that enable 300 jobs in Calderdale
  • Parenting advice and skills to over 24 families
