Enterprise Grants

 Start-up Support

We believe that supporting businesses to start and grow is essential to creating a vibrant and self-sustaining community.

Our start-up grants are available at both its business centres – Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre and Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre. These grants are in the form of rental subsidies and apply to businesses taking up office space at one of our business centres during their first 18 months of trading.

The grant starts from the date the company is registered at companies house, irrespective of start of tenancy.

Eligible businesses receive a 50% discount on their rent during their first 9 months trading then a 25% reduction for the next 9 months, a total of 18 months subsidised rent to get start-up businesses off the ground.

Networking and Events

Our business community

HOT Networking is a professional networking event, hosted by Halifax Opportunities Trust.

One of the main objectives of HOT Networking is to bring together local professionals and businesses to meet minds and share ideas, to create strong professional links in Halifax through a relaxed and informal networking setting.

The latest event and calendar can be found on the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre website.

The networking event unlocks opportunities for a range of businesses to come together and learn something new and share best practice. Whether you’re a start-up, a sole trader or part of a larger business all are welcome.
