The HOT Employment team are working on an exciting new youth mentoring project alongside The Halifax Academy.

Rising Stars Youth Mentoring is a unique programme that brings together young people and professionals through mentoring and guidance. Through connecting with young people, committing time and knowledge, mentors can spark change by building aspirations and confidence for young people while gaining new perspectives and professional accomplishments.


Build positive Relationships with rising stars of the future and make lasting connections with your community.

This local Park & Warley partnership between Halifax Opportunities Trust and The Halifax Academy has been developed to build links with local businesses and professionals for a better-connected community. Grow your network while helping a young person climb for a brighter future.

Halifax Opportunities Trust’s Employment team has years of experience in working with people to reach their aspirations. This programme will not only create opportunities for young people, but offers endless benefits for local professionals and business owners seeking voluntary opportunities.


Spark change, build aspirations and confidence for mentees, while you gain new perspectives and accomplishments.

Becoming a mentor isn’t only beneficial for your mentee, you will gain a range of new skills and experiences that aid your own professional development, such as:

We want to hear from you!

We’re seeking local business owners or professionals in a wide range of industries to volunteer their time to this new programme. You’ll work alongside Halifax Opportunities Trust and The Halifax Academy, who will match you with a young person (aged 14/15), based on their career goals and your own career path/journey. Meetings with your mentee will take place on the school premises in school hours, every 2 to three months.
